The St. Cloud State University Huskies men’s ice hockey team is a Division I hockey program. They play in the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center named for the famous U.S. Olympic hockey coach who also coached hockey at St. Cloud State.Fun fact: the St. Cloud Prison wall is the second largest wall in the world built by prisoners, next to the Great Wall of China. Nicknamed “The Granite City” because of the granite quarries in the area, St. Cloud borders the Mississippi river and offers tons for the explorer in you. Walk or bike in Quarry Park, or hit up the Beaver Island Trail, which follows along the Mississippi River where the Beaver Islands make a two-mile maze of the river that is a popular path among kayak and canoe enthusiasts.
